Application and scope

Visible and functional edges

Grinding forms part of preparing the glass for use and assembly. We review which edges remain visible, how the component meets other materials and the finish specified for the completed product.

Straight, curved and angled work

The published range covers straight and curved shapes, flat trapezoidal edges with a ground or polished finish, and angled edges from 0° to 45°. Other angles are agreed individually. The width of the edge land can be adjusted where the chosen process allows.

Dimensions and tolerance

The standard dimensional tolerance is ±2 mm. A tighter dimensional tolerance of ±0.5 mm must be agreed individually for each order. Smaller pieces or other formats can be reviewed on enquiry; the published ranges do not replace the assessment of a particular drawing.

Published technical parameters

Maximum glass size
3600 × 3600 mm
Minimum glass size
40 × 40 mm; smaller on enquiry
Published glass thickness range
2–90 mm

These ranges describe the published offer. Feasibility and the combination of size, thickness, shape and tolerance are confirmed for the individual drawing and order.

Before we start

What information should I include?

Mark the visible edges, profile or angle, intended finish, glass thickness and quantity. Include the complete outline and any critical mounting dimensions.

Can the project begin with a first component?

A prototype or trial batch can be agreed where the project requires it. The scope and the conditions for subsequent production are confirmed before manufacture.
